Have you noticed?
We live in a world that is getting smarter by the day. Yet, many of us are no less confused than we were yesterday.
There is more information, more advice, more noise, and more people telling us what to believe and how to live. Still, many of us are trying to understand what life is doing to us and what we are supposed to do with it.
I have always been the sort of person who looks at ordinary things and asks another question. A conversation. A photograph. A line in a poem. Something that happens at work. Faith. Nigeria. Family. Time. Business. Sometimes the pieces look unrelated. Then, somehow, they begin to speak to one another.
That is what this place is for.
OmoAgbaje is not a blog about one thing. Life is not about one thing either. This is where I share what I see, what I think and what life is teaching me.
Some days it will be a thought. On others, a photograph, a poem, a story or an idea worth sitting with. I am not here because I have life figured out. Far from it. I am here because I refuse to stop paying attention.
I believe life is a gift, and we are most valuable when we spend ourselves liberating others. Too many of us are busy surviving. We trade our time, energy and very best for salaries, or something less, then arrive late at the life we were meant to live. I am not writing from outside that struggle. I am in it too.
This is where I will question the things that hold us down, name what we often feel but cannot explain, and remind myself, as much as anyone else, that purpose is not a luxury.
If something here makes you pause, see differently, question an old assumption or recognise a truth you have carried without words, then perhaps we have made a little more sense of life together.
One thought. One photograph. One poem. One story at a time.
